Where do we start?
How did I get here?*
These 5 words are where our work together so often begins. Where do we find ourselves now, how did we reach this place, what isn't working, what is working, and what's our alternative and preferred place to be? And how can we approach this all with compassion, curiosity, patience and, at times, thoughtful challenging.
I am a qualified and accredited psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist, with over 20 years of experience working with people from a wide range of ages and backgrounds.
I am committed to my work, and care deeply about people, their wellbeing and place in the world.
The settings I have worked in have meant I have been able to work with people from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds, sexualities and gender identities, and, more recently, neurodiversities.
I am also a musician, hence the song lyric reference, and have a strong sense of the therapeutic value of music and our own creative expression.
(*Listening to Talking Heads ‘Once in a Lifetime’ is optional but not a bad place to start!
